Silkscreening - The IONforce’s extended range capability is designed to address several areas in the silk screen printing process that can be affected by static charges.
- The sheet pile at the feeder can have a static charge which causes the sheet (substrate) to stick to the pile and misfeed.
- During the printing process, where the screen bed, screen mesh and squeegee interface, static charges can build up, especially on polyester material which is prone to high static charges. This charge can cause whiskering around the edges of the image.
- Once the squeegee has realized its printing stroke and the screen is lifted, the substrate may stick to the screen, causing smearing. The substrate may also stick electrostatically to the screen bed and cause misalignment.
- Poor print quality can be caused by the electrostatic attraction of airborne contaminates to a charged surface at any point during the silk screening process
Injection Molding - The IONforce is ideal for installation in the mold ejection area or over parts delivery/collection tubs. Injection molded parts can have high static charges that attract airborne contamination, resulting in product rejects. Operators may also experience uncomfortable shocks when working next to the collection bin. The IONforce has an extended range capability, with an optional air assist, to neutralize the static charges in the injection molding process. |
