Chargemaster CM-BP 30 & CM-BP 60, Static Charging Systems

Specification Sheet | IML Article from Plastics Technology | Chargemaster Brochure

Simco’s Chargemaster CM-BP 30 (30kV) and CM-BP 60 (60kV) Electrostatic Generating System supply the high voltage for charging bars and various applicators, which are used to temporarily bond materials together, providing a simple and economical solution for a wide range of production processes.

The CM-BP 30 and CM-BP 60 power supplies provide both positive and negative polarities and feature remote ON/OFF capability. The output voltages can also be controlled from a remote location via 0-5V, 0-10V, 0-20mA or 4-20mA voltage or current sources. The power supplies also supply a 0-5V or 0-10V output signal to remotely monitor the output voltages and currents.

Each Chargemaster CM-BP Power Supply incorporates high frequency switch-mode and power factor corrected technology. The systems are electronically current limited and arc protected. The output voltages are adjustable from zero to full rated output at maximum rated current.

Typical Use / Specifications / Download Files

Typical Use:

Catalog Packaging - A static charge electrostatically adheres catalogs together in a tight, registered stack as they proceed through the shrinkwrapping processes. Chill Roll Edge Pinning - A charging applicator at each edge of the roll applies a static charge to the extruded film as it contacts the chill roll. The charge prevents “neck-in” of the film. Ribbon Tacking - The Chargemaster CM-BP System uses opposite polarity, high voltage DC charges to tack ribbons together. This action displaces the laminar airflow between ribbons and the ribbons gain strength from the intense but temporary static charge. The ribbons are now easily moved through to finishing with 'dog-ears'
