| Maintaining Optimal Static Bar Performance |
Properly maintained static control bar ionizing points will give you high performance over the lifetime of your static bar. Maintaining ionizing points requires regular cleaning and
operational testing.
Ionizing points must be cleaned on a monthly basis. If points are extremely dirty when cleaning, increase frequency to weekly. In very dirty environments, it may be necessary to clean daily or at the end of each shift.
In some applications a static bar with monitoring system that indicates when the static bar needs cleaning may be required. Ask your local representative about the Blue Bar and True AC Power Supply or the PerforMAX 3 System
.
Cleaning Ionizing Points
NOTE: Disconnect and lock out power to the system before performing any maintenance procedures.
1. Using compressed air, blow out both the front and back area surrounding the
ionizing points. This will remove dirt, dust and particulate collected around the
points.
2. Using a stiff nylon brush, scrub area around each point, removing as much debris as
possible.
3. Use Isopropyl Alcohol only (other solvents may damage plastic) applied with a clean
cloth to remove paint and ink buildup
NOTE: Do not pour alcohol on ionizing points or soak in alcohol at any time or damage to the assembly may result.
4. Wipe off solvent using a clean rag.
NOTE: Do not hang rags on static bar or near ionizing points. Fire may result.
5. Clean points using a stiff nylon brush.
